Boryeong Mud Festival

A couple weeks ago, we drove about and hour and a half south and took in the Boryeong Mud Festival.  It was great, muddy fun!  We randomly happened to run into Laura as we looked for the mud.  There's just something about playing in the mud.
Aliza's Korean fan club membership flew off the charts as soon as she was covered in mud!!  It was crazy.
(Thank you, Shannon Tanghe for the recommendation!  We had a blast).

This little girl is a couple months younger than Aliza!

Some hanging out near home

On one of the hiking trails right out our door

Since our apartment is on the 10th floor - we spend some time in the elevator

Nate and Aliza are learning to play the piano

Aliza's first Independence Day!
I've started the tradition of making a flag fruit pizza for the 4th.  This year's was a little interesting with peaches and Korean black grapes - but still yummy!
The celebration at Osan AB
Not scared at all!

We visited the Buddhist Temple in Yeoju
The fan club keeps growing
We found what we hoped was a yummy restaurant near the temple
and ordered from this menu what we thought was their yummiest entree
Much to our delight, we didn't order 45,000 Won worth of squid.  It was delicious!  And quite a spread.  They even made several dishes specifically for Aliza.  All with hand motions and head nods!

Amazon has been so gracious in helping to supply what we couldn't fit in our 600lb shipment :)

Nate turns 31!
Breakfast with the Birthday Box - another tradition I'm continuing.
He requested Pizza Pinwheel for dinner

The sweetest babydoll in the whole world!

We are enjoying the Korean custom of topping waffles will all sorts of decadent deliciousness.
The coffee & waffle lady took quite a liking.

Skype me!  I'm waiting!

Two Saturdays in Seoul

We spent the last two Saturdays exploring Seoul - the 2nd largest city in the world (Tokyo is #1).  So much to see!

We actually made it onto the right subway line, headed the right direction!  And Aliza made some more friends.

We visited my cousin, Laura, who lives in Seoul and teaches K-2 English at LCI Academy.
It was so fun to have a familiar face in a foreign city!
Nate has not learned yet to cute-ify pictures. :)

Laura is great at ordering food in Korean.
Our first Bebimbap!

Laura has a cute little apartment in the city - with a cute little bathroom.  No shower curtain needed!

Times Square Shopping Mall

Having Aliza earns us a special seat on the subway.

The next week: a stop at the Korean War Memorial

Namdaemun Market

Diaper change on our way to Namsan Mountain

Yay for babies!

Up the mountain to the Seoul Tower on the tramway with Brady and Graciela.  They go to our church and Nate knows Brady from Del Rio.  It's a small Air Force world!

Martial Arts demonstration
